Ministries

New Samaritan is a vibrant church offering numerous opportunities for NSBC Disciples to serve and be served. With over 35 active ministries designed to provide opportunities to share the love of Christ in multiple ways, there is a place for you to engage, explore and expand your spiritual gifts. A few of our ministries are highlighted below.
NSBC Chosen Vessels (CV) Women Ministry’s purpose is to empower, strengthen, and encourage women to their full potential in God by helping women gain knowledge and understanding of God. The ministry will provide opportunities for women to identify and use their unique, God given gifts for the purpose of harvesting other women for God’s kingdom. Every woman who is a member of New Samaritan Baptist Church is a part of the sisterhood of Chosen Vessels. The CV structure include special programs include the Daughters of Destiny (ages 10-17) mentoring program; Morning Coffee social gatherings and other endeavors promoting spiritual growth and development.
Deacon Ministry
The Deacon Ministry is designed to provide support to the pastoral and ministerial staff in serving the needs of the congregation. In addition, this ministry contacts and visits parishioners who are sick and shut-in to advance their spiritual and physical well being.
Discipleship Services Ministry
The Discipleship Services Ministry (DSM) is designed to orient new disciples to the various ministries of the church. DSM Altar Workers receive those who respond to the invitation to give their lives to Christ or request special prayer. The ministry provides direction for all NSBC disciples to become integrated into the church family and serve in ministry. In addition, it manages the data base of NSBC disciples and visitors.
Missionary Ministry
The Missionary Ministry provides help, service and assistance to those who are in need. The Missionaries visits nursing homes and serve the NSBC church family and others through various channels that include the provision of clothing, food, Bibles, and other items as the need arises, while promoting encouragement and sharing the love of Jesus Christ in order to meet physical and spiritual needs. This ministry also sponsors: (1) THE SHARE FOOD PROGRAM; (2) THE AGAPE CLOTHES CLOSET; (3) THE FEED THE HOMELESS INITIATIVE and (4) THE CAPITOL AREA FOOD BANK – WEEKLY FOOD GIVEAWAY, among others.
Real Men Ministry
The Real Men Ministry (RMM) promotes the spiritual growth and development of all men at NSBC. The RMM holds a monthly spiritual enrichment meeting; facilitates men’s only small groups and plan a variety of recreational outings for men. In addition, RMM serves as mentors to the young men/boys of NSBC. RMM concentrates heavily upon empowering and helping men to become better leaders in their homes, in the church, on their jobs and within communities.
School of Ministry
The School of Ministry is designed to coordinate the provision of Christian Education to youth and adults through classes, Wednesday Bible Studies and special learning opportunities such as the BodyBuilders Conference, A.R.M.S. Lecture series and VBS, often in collaboration with other ministries.
Senior Saints Ministry
The Senior Saints Division is designed for a group of seasoned adults (ages 65 and above) that are dedicated to righteous and fruitful living to the fullest which includes activities, workshops, events and services. A weekly Wednesday mid-morning Senior Saints gathering provides opportunities for food, fellowship, Bible Study and special topic presentations by special guests.
Small Groups Ministry
Small Groups have been established at NSBC to provide a healthy environment for people grow and experience authentic Christian community, be spiritually transformed and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and others in order to glorify God, and make disciples of all nations. A variety of specialized small group topics are offered each Spring and Fall semester with no registration fee.
Youth and Families Ministry
The Youth & Family Ministries is designed to produce spiritually maturing students fulfilling the Great Commission. This is accomplished through various youth activities and services that seek to edify the body of Christ and glorify God. The Y&F Ministry oversees the Sunday Think Orange Youth Program, and plans special events throughout the year.
